Broken Torrey Pine Limb - Tower 4

Last night a large branch of the Torrey pine tree in front of Tower 4 cracked and fell on the roof of Tower 4 (see photo). The homeowner in the unit below where the tree limb fell had the proper response and first called Menas Realty's after-hours number. Menas is now working on getting a tree service out to take care of any immediate safety issues.

MOST IMPORTANT - areas of the pool deck, the main entrance to Tower 4, and the walk between towers 3 and 4 have been blocked off. For your own safety, please obey these warnings and don't go in those areas.

We have been working on getting our current tree service out to provide us with a bid to prune both Torrey pines (they need to be pruned from January through March to avoid any pine beetle infestation). Unfortunately, our tree service has been unresponsive, so we may be looking for a new one.

This is all we know for now. If anything changes, we will notify you.

Thank you;

Bob Citrano

Update (2021-01-30):
A tree service has been on-site to assess the situation. Due to the size and location of the limb and lack of accessibility to the area, they are formulating a plan to remove the limb on Monday (Feb. 01). From all appearances, and barring any strong winds between now and Monday, the limb should stay resting on the building roof. However, I am requesting that all Bay Scene residents stay well away from the area as it is still a very dangerous situation.

Thank you for your cooperation.
