Garage Theft / Lock Box Removal

The Board wishes to inform homeowners that someone gained entrance into the Bay Scene complex Tuesday night around 1:30 am using a fob provided to a vendor. The fob was in one of the lock boxes on the railing in front of Tower 3.

It appears the lock box was cut and removed sometime after 5:00 pm Monday night. The fob was taken from the lock box and used to gain entrance all over the complex; including the front lobby, where the suspect was seen stealing packages and in the garage where he broke into at least three cars (two with broken windows). Management has filed a police report on the break in and is following up to provide all available assistance in identifying and apprehending the perpetrator.

Homeowners, it is advised that you remove all valuables from your vehicle at all times. It is unfortunate that the owners of the three cars this individual broke into had their wallets and/or credit cards stolen.

If you see or hear anything suspicious anywhere on our property, report it immediately to the San Diego Police Department.

To prevent further break-ins of this type, this memo also serves to provide advance notice to all homeowners and residents who provided fobs to vendors and others that are being stored in lock boxes. Management will be removing all lock boxes located in the front of Bay Scene by Friday, May 24th.
