Holiday Security Procedures
Tis the Season!!!!
Bay Scene Holiday Security Procedures
Thieves target Bay Scene hard during Nov/Dec. A lot of thefts can be prevented by using some basic common sense and showing a little neighborly Holiday spirit.
Below are six things you can do to help keep Bay Scene a little more secure and harder for the reprobates out there to ruin your/our holidays:
1. Make sure the main lobby street-side double doors remain closed at all times (when open, the view into our mailroom makes it a very tempting target!).
2. Don’t allow any perimeter gates or Tower street doors to be propped open (any time during the day), and absolutely do not allow your or anyone else’s contractors to do it!
3. Make sure all gates and street doors FULLY close behind you.
4. Move ANY packages you see in the mailroom to the other side of the glass double doors and place them near the coffee table/pond. If you find a package that belongs to a friend or neighbor, be a Good Samaritan and hand deliver it to their door or let them know there’s a package waiting for them) If you do deliver a package, ring the bell/knock on the door (we’ve had several thefts of packages left sitting outside Unit doors!). Bad guys have been known to canvas the Towers floor by floor in the past!
5. When entering or exiting the garage keep your eyes out for anyone loitering around the entrance/exit. Sit in your car for a few extra seconds while the gates close to ensure no one tries to sneak down the ramp while the gate is still up. I personally had someone follow my car in that did not belong and had to chase them out. If you see it happen, just lock your car doors and make some big noise, scream at them and honk your horn…..they will run for the exits if they don’t belong and you make a scene! Always lock your car.
6. Last but not least…..these “guys are bold” and willing to work 24/7. We have had a lot of thefts happen during the middle of the day! So keep your eyes open, stay vigilant, be smart, and take care of your neighbors!
